Night Patrol: read the guard

Night Patrol builds a stealth game for a stock 48K PAL Spectrum. Read a guard’s patrol through a 30 × 18 archive, use walls as cover, collect the file and return to the entrance. At corners, the guard looks behind before checking the next corridor.

Ten lessons explain the map, movement, objective, patrol phases and widening field of view. A worked example shows how prepared BASIC DATA moves the sight mask without calculating the whole view during play. The final lessons finish the controls and save a tape that starts in a fresh machine.
