Overview
This Jesus On E’s (1996), by Rebel, is one of the most talked-about ZX Spectrum demos of its era — partly for its cheerfully provocative, pure-mid-90s-rave title, but mostly for what it pulled off on the humblest hardware in the range. Much of the Eastern European scene’s best work leaned on the 128K machine’s AY sound chip and the favourable video timing of Pentagon clones. This demo did its multicolour conjuring on the plain 48K Spectrum.
It shares its name with — but is otherwise unrelated to — LSD’s famous Amiga rave demo of 1992. Two scenes, two machines, one irresistible title.

Why it stuck
