Twice the fun, double the trouble
Formed in 1990, Skid Row became one of the most dominant Amiga cracking groups, their cracktros — and their motto — a fixture of pirated disks across the platform.
Skid Row formed in the summer of 1990, built by Metallica from the remains of two folded groups, Paranoimia and Supreme. For a few intense years they were among the most dominant cracking crews on the Amiga, their releases — and their slogan, “Twice the Fun — Double the Trouble!” — turning up on copied disks everywhere.
Their intros doubled as scene record-keeping: the cracktro Skid Row attached to Pinball Fantasies in 1992 famously rolled out the group’s entire membership, a snapshot of a crew at its peak before the BBS busts and break-ups of the mid-90s.

Intros as broadcast
For an Amiga cracking group the cracktro was the loudest channel they had — a scrolling, music-backed announcement bolted to the front of a game that would be copied thousands of times. Skid Row used theirs to project dominance: the motto, the member rolls, the greets and the taunts that made the cracking scene as much a social arena as a technical one.
