Overview
Hardwired (1991), a collaboration between Crionics and The Silents, is one of the demos people cite when they argue the form is an art. It has the effects you would expect of a top Amiga production, but it spends them differently — choreographed to the music, sequenced for rhythm and mood rather than simply paraded one after another.
That shift mattered. Hardwired helped move the demo away from “look what the hardware can do” toward “look what we can make you feel”, and its sense of direction influenced productions for years afterward.
