Chaos Constructions, held in Saint Petersburg, is the demoparty that keeps the ZX Spectrum at the centre of the stage. Where most modern parties have moved to the PC, Chaos Constructions still runs serious competitions for old hardware — and it is the largest event that regularly features the Spectrum, the platform’s spiritual home turf in the former Soviet Union.
Part party, part computer fair, it carries forward a scene that never treated the Spectrum as obsolete. New Spectrum productions still premiere there decades after the machine’s heyday.
