Technosoft’s Thunder Force series found its true home on the Mega Drive. What began as a free-scrolling computer shooter became a horizontally-scrolling showcase for Sega’s 16-bit hardware. Thunder Force III introduced weapon selection that would define the series, while Thunder Force IV pushed the console to its limits with parallax layers and massive bosses.
