The Black Lotus (TBL) kept the Amiga demoscene at the cutting edge long past the platform's commercial life, their demo Starstruck a benchmark of what the machine can still do.
Overview
The Black Lotus — TBL — are the group most responsible for the idea that the Amiga demoscene never grew old. Formed in the mid-1990s, they kept producing showpiece demos long after the wider industry had moved on, each one a statement that the platform still had headroom nobody else was reaching.
Their 2006 production Starstruck, premiered at Assembly, is the one most often held up as proof — a demo so polished it forces a double-take about which machine it’s running on.

Why TBL matter
